The strawberry tree is an evergreen plant typical of the Mediterranean maquis but almost exclusively productive in Sardinia as far as the production of this typically autumn honey is concerned. It is one of the rarest and most expensive honeys, with a bitter taste reminiscent of chicory, an amber colour and a pungent aroma.
