Chestnut honey comes from chestnut groves located in the Desulo (NU) area at an altitude of 900/1000 metres; it is very dark in colour with shades ranging, depending on the development of the season and the interference of other undergrowth blooms, from dark amber to black. This honey, having a higher fructose content rather than glucose, tends to remain liquid with delayed or no crystallisation; its aroma is strong and intense, while the flavour is not exactly sweet, in fact it has a distinctive, pleasantly intense taste with a woody, lingering aftertaste that leaves the mouth dry. Thanks to its strong, penetrating aroma with a pleasant tannic note, it meets the taste buds of many connoisseurs.
